Mould Killer Essential Oil Spray Recipe

Here's a recipe for making your own highly effective mould-killing spray with all-natural essential oils.

Firstly, how do you know if you have mould? Well, mould can look fuzzy, discoloured and have a terrible musty smell. It can also grow anywhere! On walls, ceilings, bathroom tiles and fabrics - all it needs is a damp and humid environment to thrive. While some moulds are harmless, others can pose serious health risks, so it's best to get rid of them.

And it's really easy: with the help of pure essential oils you can create a highly effective mould killer that's cost-effective and completely natural.

  1. Add vinegar, detergent and essential oils of Clove Bud, Lemon, and Tea Tree into an empty spray bottle. Screw on lid and shake well to mix.

  2. As mould and mildew is toxic, it is best to use a face mask and gloves when cleaning it.

  3. Shake the bottle well before each use and spray on the surface to be cleaned. Let it sit for an hour before wiping with a dry cloth. Use a scrubbing brush to remove any tough areas. Spray again with the cleaner and allow to air dry (no need to rinse).

  4. Avoid contact with eyes and any sensitive skin.

Each ingredient in the recipe above has been selected for its powerful mould-combating properties. For example, vinegar is used for its acidic properties, which are strong enough to break down the structure of mould and inhibit its growth. Essential oils of clove, lemon and tea tree are added for their anti-fungal properties, which not only kill the mould but also help to prevent its return, leaving a pleasant scent in the treated area.

With this simple and inexpensive recipe using natural oils, you'll be well prepared to tackle mould and mildew problems in your home.
